Aleksandr Provotorov was born in 1974 in Moscow. In 1996 he graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the faculty of law.
Aleksandr has extensive experience in telecommunications. In 2001-2003 he headed the legal department of Gazprom Media and entered the holding company’s board. Later Aleksandr joined the Sputnik Group, international investment company, where he held the vice president’s post of the investment department in 2003-2005. In 2005, he stepped in as CEO of Marshal Capital that focuses on investment in telecommunications, media and technology as well as real estate.
In 2009, Aleksandr assumed office of Svyazinvest First Deputy CEO. He was appointed as the head of Rostelecom, national telecommunications company, in July 2010.
Since June 2013, Aleksandr Provotorov is Tele2 Russia President and CEO.
Based on a presidential decree as of 28 July 2012, Aleksandr Provotorov received a prestigious state award.
Aleksandr is married, has three children.
