Tele2 clients talk for half a billion minutes in holidays

Moscow – Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has summed up results of network operations on 23 February and 8 March. Over these days, clients made 219 mn phone calls and sent over 155 mn SMS and MMS.

Overall duration of phone calls made on the Defender of the Fatherland Day and the International Women’s Day exceeded 558 mn minutes – it outperforms the last year’s indicator by 8%. An average duration of talk stayed the same – it is 2.5 minutes long. Chelyabinsk residents were most active in their communications – they made over 15 mn phone calls for two holidays.

The number of sent messages has slightly reduced compared to last year and totaled 155 mn. The number of SMS and MMS congratulations increased 9% y-o-y on 23 February, on 8 March subscribers delivered 5% less messages than they did last year. Residents of Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Nizhniy Novgorod, Krasnodar and Voronezh were most active senders of SMS and MMS.

During holidays, Tele2 subscribers more actively used wireless Internet by sending messages in social networks and messengers. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Chelyabinsk and Krasnodar account for almost a third of downloaded traffic.

In 2017, Tele2 subscribers from Moscow considerably increased phone calls indicators. Thus, their number surged 70% compared to last year, whereas total duration of such calls increased almost 80%. The number of SMS and MMS delivered for two holidays grew 1.5-fold on a yearly basis.
